My wife and I got to see a 2-hour performance by the Jive Aces several years ago - it was incredible. Today, with all the dire news about everything on the planet, I happened to stumble across this You Tube video that made this dreary day a lot brighter. Thought I would share it with you.

No, Gary, it didn't "make this dreary day a lot brighter." But........it certainly DID made my "night" brighter, since I was watching it at night!

Every summer I attend a lot of outdoor summer concerts that they have around here. Looking back (over the years even) I saw nothing like this to "make my day brighter." What I do see in today's performers are mediocre instrumentals, anger in their delivery, negative aggression (both in their faces and their movements), boredom, no real emotion to show they're enjoying themselves up there, too much dependence on the gimmicks (light shows, etc), and.......basically absolutely nothing that made you walk away from a performance thinking the world is a better place (like when you walked away from your street-corner doo-wop singing back in the 50s.

On the other hand, I just watched A Bronx Tale tonight, and American Graffiti last week, with that wonderful 50s/60s music playing in the background. No comparison between what is and what used to be!

BTW Are you sure that group isn't Louis Prima playing incognito?

I sing this one as an opener quite often, and fun to see the effect on the audience. Most don't know it and ask me about it.

Thanks Gary it made me smile this morning. Love that stuff. Louie Prima and Sam Butera would be proud.
Nice break from me and my wife deciding when to leave to beat this Hurricane. Maybe I'll need to take a break from boarding up the windows later and watch it again .
Bernie , do you have a lead sheet of it? Like to do it just because.
