I have an ending on a style on s900 and the very last note is like, woah, too loud!f The song ends abruptly and this note sounds odd. I don't know if it would work to just remove it or you'd have to lower the volume or maybe even change the note itself. Can a style ending be edited?

In lieu of that... I could record it. How could this be edited out of a midi?

It ought to be editable, Semi... The Intros and endings are style Divisions, just like the Variations and Fills...

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the Yamaha Way, but hopefully it's as easy as Roland. Use your Style Editor (or whatever Yamaha call it). Choose the correct Ending, and each Part ought to have a list edit. Go to the Part that has the sound that is too loud, find the last note(s) and turn all their velocities (not their volumes - that'll turn the whole Part down) down. Might be a good time to make them longer, too, if you think it ends too abruptly.

Sorry I can't be more specific. Probably Ian is the guy to get the specifics from, he does this all the time...

Hi SemiLive,
regrettably as far as I'm aware, psr factory styles can't be event list edited in a psr except for drum tracks.
At least that was the case with my psr1500.
You'd have to edit via a pc software editor like Stylemaker & a PC sequencer.
I used to use One Man Band, but I was told that it may alter the effects or something.
Didn't affect me as I used OMB as my arranger instead of a psr.
Been a couple of years or more since I edited styles for a psr, but I do edit a lot of psr styles & manually convert them for my korg.

Which style is it? I gather it's a factory style. Is it just a single track or the whole ending.

I'm happy to have a look at it for you, if no better offers pop up.
Unfortunately I don't own a psr900 to test it on, but I could use my psr1500 as soundsource & get a rough idea.

best wishes
Rikki

Bill,

You can do this in the keyboard's onboard Style Creator program, then save the style as a custom style in your user area. To get to the program, press Function/Digital Recording/Style Creator.

You'll also find lots of information pertaining to style editing at www.psrtutorial.com in the lessons section.

Cheers,

Gary

Thanks everyone... I lucked up into an easy fix. I had turned off a voice because it was annoying me and it turned out to be the offending voice in the Ending. So, I'm set.

But, I do need to know how to do this.
