I'm playing both Korg PA-50 and Yamaha PSR-3000 keyboards during my live performance. Now i'm using Korg PA-50 as the master keyboard for playing PSR-3000 voices and i have stored my favourite voices in the 8 registration pads of PSR-3000.Now is it possible to recall PSR-3000 registration sounds with the incoming midi messages? as i wan't to recall PSR-3000 registration sounds by pressing the PA-50 performance buttons(A toH)or STS buttons (F1 T0 F4).
Your help is highly appreciated.

Thanks,
SUNNY.

Unfortunately I don't think you can select PSR3000 registrations or One Touch settings using messages send down Midi.

If all you do with the registrations is selecte specific voices, could you set L / R1 / R2 to receive on different midi channels and then send patch changes direct from the PA-50? I don't know enough about the PA 50 to know whether it's "midi master keyboard" functinality is sufficient for this, however.

Thanks for the reply and PA-50 also sends MIDI messages for lower(L),upper1(R1),upper2(R2)in channels 1,2,3 and is the volume levels of L,R1,R2 of PSR-3000 effected by incoming Midi mesages of PA-50(lower,upper1,upper2)?
secondly i wan't to know whether is it posible to change registrations of PSR-3000 with the foot pedals?as this is possible with PSR-740 keyboard.

Thanks,
SUNNY.

First - Registration selection

As the 3000 has no midi message that can select registrations then you would not be able to do this via any external device, so pedals wouldn't be any use either.

Trouble is I've downloaded the 740 manual and I can't find anything in there either that would give this ability.

So now I'm a bit confused. I can't see how you could remotely select Registrations on either the 740 or the 3000. So what messages did to use on the 740 to remotely select registrations?

Secondly voice selection

You can certainly configure the 3000 to "listen" to the patch change data coming in from the PA50; you map L / R1 / R2 on the 3000 to listen to midi channels 1 / 2 / 3. The problem with this is that the PA50 will send the patch changes that it is using to select its own voices and this may not be what you want to select on the 3000. You need some way to send independant patch changes to the 3000, and this is the sort of thing that you can do with master keyboards, but I don't know if you can do this with the PA50.
