Here's another post that is not a rumor--I'm not about to replace my PSR-3000 unless something really, really, really fantastic comes out at the same price. Ain't gonna' happen!

Cheers,

Gary

GARY !!!
T2-4-U! (not to be confused with T-4-2)

Get the T2 and you will be T2K (T2Keyboard) compliant!

Sorry, I had to do it. Its my medication for a rough week (so far) at the office.

That's almost a relief because after today's purchase, that totally takes me out of the race for a new board.. that is unless of course Don M is correct about the features on the new Ketron offering.

I have learned that the PSR-3000/1500 will remain in the product line for another year.
This is not a rumor.
There is no release date for the 3k replacement for now.
Ian

True... I manage a music store in Phoenix, Arizona and also use a PSR-3000 and a PSR-550. They're both fantastic boards.

Anyone needing anything of a msical nature is welcome to contact me. I can ship anywhere and will beat anyone's prices.

Hmm, that's disappointing.

I love my PSR3000, but I wanted to get my hands on a new toy.

At least I will save about $800 - the approximate price to replace my two PSR3000s with two new PSRs.

Another thing though is that I am wondering if my PSR3000 can handle another year without breaking. So far this keyboard has been holding up - for a year and a half already. Only one malfunction that was easily fixed by an amateur electrician.

I hope that the replacement at least comes out in the late fall - like the Tyros 2 did this year.

Oh well.

"I can't justify the expense just for some new voices, and, basically the same styles" Quote Ian.

Hey Ian, guess you haven't had a chance to try the Tyros 2 yet? When will you get the demo? I am looking forward to your review and comparison.

Just sold my Tyros and PSR3000 to recirculate my music mad money. It was the best move I could have made. The styles are better as well as the voices by a long shot, plus the most important thing: tone. IMHO there is a major difference in tone between the PSR3000 to the Tyros to the Tyros 2.

I know some disagree. Many are in agreement with me on this though, but refrain from voicing their opinion on SZ and express their viewpoint to me privately.

I make mention of this because apparently not everyone judges in the same way or for the same reasons.

The only reason I make mention of this is because there are a lot of people that buy their keyboard by what is said here without even trying or comparing them.

So I state MHO for them that the PSR3000 and the Tyros 1 most definitely DO NOT sound identical. And that there is a major improvement between the Tyros 1 and the Tyros 2.

Don't get me wrong. They are all very fine instruments. But for someone trying to decide which one to get, there are truly enough differences between them to check them out closely before purchasing through the same speakers and not to rely on others opinions.

Hope this helps a few more people make the best purchase on their next keyboard.

Best

i have to agree scott, just by listening to the demos of the 3000, against the T2 there is clearly a substantial(read HUGE!!!) improvement in the T2, just mho of course..
