About 10 years ago I had a Guitar midi setup. At first I used it to trigger off my keyboard, vocal and keyboard backing. When I tried to used it to play solos, there was a delay which made it unacceptable.
How different is it today?

Totally different, though I'd say the GK2A is much better than just Midi. The Roland guitar synthes like the GR33 and such have excellent tracking.

I saw Al Dimeola some years ago using a GK2A equipped guitar and he pulled off blistering licks with a MIDI module tracking his playing perfectly. Yes technology has certainly improved a lot.

The old devices you remember bruno123 were pitch conversion devices that had to wait until a full cycle had passed through before they knew what the note was to send it out on MIDI. But that was no fun at all because of the horrible lag caused by the audio-2-MIDI conversion.
