I just got a SY 77 synth. I downloaded some sounds from the Internet on my PC Formatted floppies. I can not load them into the SY 77 because they are not formatted by the SY 77 and I can not download sounds from the Internet with SY 77 formatted diskettes.
Any solutions? Help is greatly appreciated.

Hi JD

Try one of these:

1. Format a floppy on your Sy77. SY77 will format it to 720 kB diskette (itīs the only format SY77 can read.) Put it in your PC and save your sound on it.

2. Use the midi interface (cable). Make sure you have put sy77 in Local off mode (menu 807)

Good luck

Joseph,

I was recently able to get some zipped SY77 files via e-mail, unzip them, copy them to an SY-formatted double-sided double-density disk, and then load them into my SY77. I changed some of the file extensions so that each file on the disk had a different extension, i.e. bank1.T01, bank2.T02, bank3.T03, etc. All of this worked flawlessly on my Mac, so you should have no trouble on a PC. Good luck!
