Hey all,
well for several years now I've been attempting to re-create the sound from Dire Straits's "Money FOr Nothing".
Tweaked the hak out of my DX7, TX816 (which got closer to the result that I was hoping to get initially), FS1R and FM7.

Well, aside from a few very very close and almost convincing versions of it I haven't got very far.

Posted here and there and at some DX forums some wise ones suggested that the patch might've been created using Guy FLetcher's Synclavier setup.

Oh, almost forgot. The sound I'm looking for is that dirty clavi type sound (the one that's played G3 to G2 right before the vocals)."Taa-doom" ... "That's the way ya do it!... You play the guitar on the MTV...".

LOve the sound. PRogrammed my FX, my synths to death. Just wondering if anyone else here attempted this.
