The Technics Musical Instrument Division closed down some months ago Bazz, so there is no longer any support for any Technics Instruments and no more keyboards will be manufactured by Technics.
The topic was discussed at some length on this forum, but I guess all the relevant posts were lost when the Synthzone server had it's recent massive crash

Hi Bill,
actually I think only the last few months were lost, not the earlier stuff.

best wishes

Hi Bazz,

It was my understanding that Technics would honor all existing warranties and would continue to provide spare part support for several years. Five years is what my memory tells me. If anyone else has more details, please share them.

Many Technics owners are still playing the earlier models such as the KN800, 1500, 3000 etc. That implies to me that we have bought a quality product with excellent reliability.

Hi Bazz,

Yes, I feel sorry for you regarding the Technics Policy. They stopped the manufacturing and supporting keyobards. However since the production and stock of KN7000's was much higher than of KN2600, for KN7000 people can still expect some support.

However a colleague and friend are developing an SD-managing tool, called KN-SD-Explorer. And we tested it: it will be compatible for KN2600 also.

Have a look at http://httpd.chello.nl/~f.mellink/SD-Explorer.htm

If you are interested tell me by sending your email address vision4life@chello.nl

NOT TO WORRY,
I currently have 4 Technics keyboards going back to 1989 with the KN800, then the KN3000, the KN6000, the KN7000 and the KN2600. None of them have ever seen the inside of a shop.
I sold the KN3000 and it has never been in a shop either.
They were made to last and they do
