yes, Song Manager works, but at midi speed so takes a long time, card reader is much faster. When the site is finished then full instructions will be available.

Although I am successful in utilizing Song Manager to do routine Backups and Restores of SD Cards both from the KN7000 and a Card Read/writer, I am having difficulty restoring a backup that I downloaded from KN7000.com.
I get an 'error' message instead of a 'Complete' message at the end of the restore process, both using the Card R/W or the KN7000 (via usb). After restoring I see the folders on the SD Card restored via usb (even though I got an error) but do not see anything in the folders when restored via the Card R/W.
Could I be doing somthing wrong?

I just got the same error on one download. Then tried my original which worked fine, and the copy I supplied to Technics which was also fine. Comparing the download with the original showed a few extra bytes had been added to the download for some reason, which is obviously failing the checksum of the restore operation. I'll mail Technics and ask them to check the files.

Hi All
I am also getting errors when I try to restore these files using Song Manager. The only one that worked was the restoration of the World styles. I believe now that I already have these styles from Alec's CD that was associated with his book.

one is pre-installed custom backups and the other pre-installed composer/panel memory backups. It will be clear when the site is finished.

Many thanks to all the kind members who have replied. My only problem, since i bought the Kn7000 a year ago,has been the failing of
the transmition function using Song Manager.
Any new sugestions to resolve this would be truly welcome. It now looks like I will have to wait for further news on the KN7000 site
to download,the new styles.

Hi Maurice,
unfortunately this won't help with the new styles, but just wondering how you do your back ups of your sd cards, or don't you?
Just in case you're not aware, there is a way of backing up sd card using a card reader.

best wishes
Rikki

Hi Rikki,

Back ups are done using the card reader.Because of the problem i have with Song Manager, the card reader usually works ok.

Maurice.
