have KN1000and2000 and want to know if there is anyway to record audio out from l000/2000 to the memory card of new 7000. I have lots of all-save floppy discs with complete arrangements, registration, composer styles, etc. and fear they will be history if I buy the new 7000.

Hi;

You express the same feelings I had until I actually got the Kn7000 and started using it.

You will end up throwing away most of what you have done in the KN2000 and KN1000.

The Kn7000 is phenominal -and the stuff from the KN1000 and even the KN2000 is not necessary.

With the KN2000 the level of my playing was barely acceptable - so I mostly used pre-recorded stuff like General Midis I made conversions of.

With the KN7000 - the level of my live playing is better than my old General Midi files.

I make my own custom rhythms and they do exactly what I want them to do.

Dont even think about it - Get it - you'll love it.

Hi Santa 1, While it is possible to transfer your existing files via audio to the KN7000 cards, either as .wav or MP3 it will be a very long process and you will lose the flexibility of being able to edit the content of the files. You will only be able to play them like a pre-recorded source.
Files recorded on a KN1000 will not directly load on the KN7000, however, KN2000 files will play but will require a bit of 'tweaking' due to different styles etc. I would suggest that you transfer your KN1000 files to KN2000 and re-save them in KN2000 format - they will then load OK into a KN7000. The process of loading KN2000 files into a KN7000 and then editing/saving, automatically converts them into KN7000 format, when saved to Floppy or SD card.
There are commercially available programs available for carrying out conversions, but since you already have the 'Tools' you may as well use them.

styles from the kn1000 can be directly loaded into the kn7000 with the style converter disk supplied with the keyboard. The registrations will need re-working and will sound much better for it... all depends how much tweaking you do.

Hay Santa 1, just think how much fun it will be making new history with the seven. After that you know the old saying: Seven come eleven! Besides Santa, after all the enjoyment you have given to others all these years why not give yourself a gift?
