I normally don't have problems working out chords from CDs but this one has me stumped.
Does anyone know the chords to "A Lover's Concerto" by the Toys? There are one or two chords in there I just can't pick.
Can't find it anywhere on the web.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Peter

Hi Peter, Think I've got that somewhere - will have a look at the weekend and see if I can work out the chords for you.

Hi Peter:

Here are the chords I USE when I play this this classic 60's 16 bar tune:

| C / / / | Em7 / C7 / | F / / / | Am / C7 / |
| F / G7 / | C / Dm9 / | G7 / Gsus / | Dm / G7 / |

| C / / / | Em7 / C7 / | F / / / | Am / C7 / |
| F / G7 / | C / Am / | Dm7 / G7sus / | C / / / |

Hope this helps.

- Scott

Peter,

Btw, each row represents four measures. The measures with just the note C represent a complete measure. For some reason I wasn't able to create spaces to get them to look properly formatted to match all the other measures (which have 2 chords). Perhaps the forum system administrators (Nigel or Bebop) could suggest how to create more than one 'space' when posting.

The chord changes listed are what I play by ear (not from a book). I've found that most fakebooks & sheetmusic NEVER provide the chords actually used by the original artist/performer. I use printed music only as a guide (at least for Pop material anyway), because the melody is not often accurate either. If you play strictly from the sheet music or fakebook, it typically ends up sounding stiff and boring. Others here may disagree, just my opinion. - Scott

[how to create more than one 'space' when posting]

Scottyee

Why not use the forward slash? eg

| C / / / | Em7 / C7 / | F / / / | Am / C7 / | etc....

John,
Many THANKS! I made changes per your excellent suggestion (see above).

Ok Gunnar, I GIVE UP!
What's the SECRET to creating more than one space?

I think it has something to do with the way you hold your mouth when you type

No secret Scott, it's simple htm-language.
If you click reply with quote, you'll see
the "sign" for two empty spaces.
Htm don't appear other in the way it does
when used i.e. when writing a webpage, and
put in a link like this:
Here you\'ll find my WebSite
