I might be getting a Mac G4 running Digi001 later this year. I'd also like a dedicated 2 track editor that also offers CD burning capabilities. I've used Steinbergs Wavelab on PC but unfortunately this is not available for Mac (Why Steinberg????). The choice is now between TC Works Spark (1.5) or Bias Peak (2.1).

I know that both a powerful programs in their own right but they each have their pros and cons.

Of course I want CD burning capabilites (both come with Adaptecs Toast) but I also would like to do all the basic things that you expect to do with such software such as trimming start and end points of tracks, cutting and pasting of data and changing gain, normalizing etc etc etc.

Which one to go for? Any comments would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Korgasm.

Both will work great. I personally like Spark a little bit better. Of course It's no where near Wavelab or Sound Forge, but they don't make that for Mac. I know Wavelab will never be made for Mac because the guy who coded Wavelab hates Macs and will never ever port it. It's a shame to. You should try out some demos if you can. Try Spark, I'll think you might like it.

I've read a few reviews about Spark and it's mainly criticised for not having enough waveform editing features and only 1 level of undo (it should really have multiple levels like Wavelab). However, I know it blows away all the others when it comes to it's VST effects implementation and works well with a TDM system.

It's crazy why Wavelab won't be ported over to Mac when Cubase is on both platforms. I suppose this is where human selfishness comes into it doesn't it!! Cheers.
