My friends SD1 has a problem, it does not boot on, and when I tryed to load the SD1 Stan file already uncompress, holding the F6(Midi) while turning on the SD1, begins loading it, then stops with "Program on Flash corrupted" and under that
"Write Program on Flash 20 (sometimes, change the number like 12 or so), the point is that if we can not boot on to have access to the Hard Drive to make the Standard Folder to put all those 12 Floppies with the files of banks to be able to reload the entire OS and sound, style banks....
Is there a way to get access to the Hard Drive?
I may add that this is with a BRAND NEW Mother board.....
Is the Flash Memory part of the Mother Board?

I appreciate your help since the autorized Ketron service center in the area knows less that we do regarding Ketron anything, thay are just good to collect $100.00 for nothing.
Thank you

Manuel

Manuel,

You mention your friend has a SD1, however are you sure the Motherboard (new as descried) isn't from an SD1 Plus?

When you get the program Flash error is this immediately or after unit attepts to load the 36 *.bin files which you should have on the Floppy disk?

The Flash memory (where the OS loads and resides) is found on the motherboard. When you turn on the keyboard (without trying to load anything), what do you get - just the SD1 logo or something else.

Help us help you out - better, as we do need some more informatio.

Thanks,

AJ

... and yes you can take the HD out and transfer the files from the 12 floppies to the new folder which you will need to create on the SD1's hard drive via PC, however, this won't solve your problem if the keyboard doesn't boot up due to missing/faulty OS.

Keep me posted.

Thanks,

AJ

Hi AJ, yes, the new mother board I am assuming that is an SDĄ Plus, into the regular sd1, anyway, when you turn on the board, just the SD1 Logo appears and stays there for EVER....never goes on.
ANd Also I had download a fresh OS from Ketron Italy, into those 12 Floppies.....so far, no luck.
What is the next move?
The local "autorized" Ketron service center are totally CLUELESS regarding Ketron, they perhaps can fix other things, but as far goes, you know that I am listed as dealer but I have no store or instruments, what I do get, is all the complains of all the Solton/Ketron owners that this place just take $100.00 per visit and do NOTHING.

mdorantes,

Those extra 12 floppies and OS were intended for the SD1 and not the SD1 Plus. The 12 floppies are the New Sounds (already found in the SD1Plus) needed to convert a SD1 into a SD1Plus.

Send me an email to ketron_tech@yahoo.com so I send you the correct OS for your board (which is actually an SD1Plus). However, you have to be carefull as you have a SD1 Plus CPU baord but might still have an SD1 Sound board which is why the SD1 is not booting up!

Again, we can continue this discussion of-line.

Thanks,

AJ
