Well i've been giving the SD1 an extended session today and its just gone dead. The small 1 amp power fuse had failed and the SD1 will run with a new fuse for a few minutes and then dies. The mains transformer is quite hot, is the transformer fitted with an internal heat sensitive fuse? Non of the voltage regulators or diodes seem to be hot so could i have a suspect transformer? If so is it a common problem?

Mains transformer gone shorted turns, 12volts at 3amps 16.2volts+ 16.2 volts at 0.6 amp, anyone know if a replacement is available?

I'm sorry to read your SD1 stopped working.
It is pretty unusual this type of transformers gets shorted turns....

Does it get hot to, when secundary wires disconnected ?
If yes, the best thing you can do is get one at your SD1 dealer
Any other type with similar voltage/amps will do.
