I'M A NEW KID ON THE BLOCK...JUST BOUGHT A XD9 AND I'M LEARNING THE LEARNING CURVE. I HAVE FIGURED OUT HOW TO GET INTO THE HARD DRIVE AND PLAY THE MIDI FILES BUT...I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO LOAD THE STYLES SO I CAN PLAY THEM....HELP. WHAT DOES .SRG MEAN IN MY FOLDERS? WHAT DOES A DIAMOND SHAPE IN FRONT OF A FOLDER MEAN? CAN YOU LOAD DIFFERENT SOUNDS INTO XD9? IF SO HOW? PLEASE BE SPECIFIC IN YOUR DIRECTIONS AS TO WHAT BUTTON TO PUSH AND WHAT I'LL ACTUALLY SEE ON MY SCREEN...REMEMBER I AM NEW AT THIS.

pianoman51,

Some answers for you.
* To load the styles, press the DISK button and make sure you are within the HD. Use the styles numeric buttons to enter the folder that has styles (eg 03). Once the styles are displayed, select they style you want and press LOAD. These will be loaded into the PATTERN area for later use.

* .SRG means this is a Single Registration file. When loaded, this file will set up your keyboard settings to perform a particular song. You can ofcourse create your own.

* A diamond shape means the folder is protected - cannot write to or erase contents of the folder.

* Yes you can load different sounds into the XD9, however you will have to purchase the Sound expansion card. This comes with the new sounds from Ketron now available. Contact your dealer for more information. These sounds can be accessed under the USER VOICE - page 2/2.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

AJ

Being a dealer that can help answer questions such as these ,I'm curios why you can't ask the person you bought the keyboard from ?

Yes I can answer that.....I bought the xd9 from a private owner. You save a bundle of money but you have no tech support when you go this route. But thats what this Ketron Forum is about to help those who do not have dealer support.

Would you please let me know what steps you have to go through to load the new sounds on the expansion card. I did not see anything in the user manual. I am thinking about buying the card but wanted to make sure I can add additional sounds.
Thanks.
