Can anyone tell me how to make a CD from which you can load styles and sounds?
I tried several times to burn a cd but the XP can't load the styles and sounds. I use Nero express 6.
greetings Johan

Hi,

Using NERO you need to make the following setups:

(Format) mode 1
(Character set) Dos
Joliet unchecked
Volume label MASTER_CD
--------------------------------------------------------
In NERO express you make the settings:

ISO: Iso Level 2
(Format) Mode 1
(char SET) ASCII
Joilet unchecked in the BURN properties section. This is the last thing you do, and the only time you can do it, before you actually press the BURN button.

Also, make sure all the titles are in capital (USE CAPS LOCK) ie.

One other point as you build a directory of stuff for the CD make sure in a song pack the number sufix at the end is in numerical order.
ie. SONG1.001, NEWSONG.002, SONG2.003 etc.
If two files share the same number the GENESYS will not see it.

I hope this helps.

Best Regards,

Dave

if i could i would like to add a further thing here...i discovered that when loading in new midi files (in SMF format)the XP did not recognise them in the folders i created on the cd(which were my folders from the PC)..when i changed the folder name to MIDIFILE.SMF the XP then "saw" them..as an experiment i also saved the new midis straight to the cd with NO folders and the XP also recognised them.. just thought i'd mention it.

peace, out
