Hi,
I finally got my S2 shipped to me in USA.
Can anyone tell me what the midi settings are for hooking it up to Cubase? I used to have it all worked out and saved on a floppy, but that hasn't come yet. I seem to recal that rx and tx xhannels were 15 and 16.

If its an S2 Turbo then you'll find a ready made performance in Bank 1, Perf #10 which, if I recall correctly, transmits on either 1 or 16 and receives on 1-16 via MIDI IN and OUT 1.

The first page of PERF TRACKS will tell you what the MIDI OUT channel is. To view and change the MIDI IN tracks, just press the MIDI IN button in the SOURCE column.

It's still pretty easy. In default LOCAL mode the instrument is set to transmit on channel 1, (if I remember correctly you see a sound called 12 String Guitar on startup). Just go to PERF TRACKS page 1 and disconnect the LOCAL sound block. Then press MIDI IN and make sure its in MULTI mode. These will be your 16 recieving tracks. That's all there is to it. Everything defaults to using MIDI IN and OUT #1.

Let me know if anything's not clear.

Ok, done that, I think it's almost there, except whatever channel I pick in Cubase, channel 3 plays too. It doesn't happen on playback, just recording.

You probably have the COMMON CHANNEL turned on. You'll find it under the MIDI menu of the GENERAL button. Make sure it's set to OFF. You can also use page 2 of this menu to permanently fix the midi channels so that they will never change. To activate this page set the MIDI CHANNEL LOCK parameter to ON in page 1.
