I posted before and got lots of great info about wanting a weighted key digital piano. i purchase a used yamaha CLP560 and i really like it. It gives me the piano sounds i wanted, if anyone remembers my original post, i was also looking for a second keyboard that can do wicked noise.techno.thrash crazy sounds and now that ive gotten my clean piano im wondering if anyone can toss in there recommendations for a new or used board in the price range of about $500. Im really into atari teenage riot, nails and a lot of abscure noise stuff as well as obseesed with early new wave sounds tht had that randon weirdness sound, Any ides> I would like to sample sounds as well and interface into an analog 4 track or direct into my computer. Ensoniq SQ-80. Its a workstation that sounds like Trent Reznors career, and is also an instant new-wave machine. Since you get eight midi tracks on it and the eight voices to use as you wish, and the ability to send midi out on whichever tracks you select, its a really neat machine. Its so easy to use, a moron could figure it out(i have proof of this).

It however cannot sample, but they are somewhat inexpensive, so you can get any old sampler, or just use your computer as a sampler.

Here is what I did with an sq-80 driving a couple of old synths, and recorded live by my the audio inputs of my VCR, back when I had no computer. Its new wavey:

Nice one Justin. Add some PPG voices to it and it's a classic!

Speaking of PPG and Waldorf the new Waldorf Blofeld might be it. All of the PPG, MW, Wave and Q sounds in one box. backward compatible with all of them too. Would take care of all the classic analog, digital and the more aggressive industrial sounds. So if you want a light 80s arp or a pad you've got one. If you want a harsh and distorted NIN Microwave I sound it can do it too. I'm getting one.
The interface isn't as nice as the one on my MWXT and Q+ but the sound is there. Actually scratch that. I have no trouble editing MQ and its got only 6 knobs on it only four of which you can use to edit sounds. Blofeld has more knobs and a nicer interface than the MQ for sure. Bloody get one. It's cheap and it would do it all.

The only thing you might need though is something to take care of drums and so on. That's easy to find though.

Crimany, the blofeld sounds like a cross between a Kawai K5 and an Ensoniq FIZMO.

Lots and lots of power in that little synth. It's a little monster. Everything Waldorf ever made in one box. SO don't be surprised if it sounds like an Additive, FM, Wavetable or Virtual Analog synth. It's all of the above. Pretty much.
