I'm new when it comes to the mixer. I have an analog recorder (Tascam Porta 02 Portastudio) and a lame Keyboard (PSR500).

I want to put my music on CDs. I'm getting a Tascam CDRW700. What mixer should I use? I want it cheap too because I'm only using a keyboard. Also, I don't want to use my computer. I want to avoid Background noise as well.

Thanks in advanced.

I'm not shure why you would need a mixer for if you're only going to be recording with 1 instrument, unless you're going to be recording vocals also. But you can find good cheep ones at
www.behringer.com
They are available at most music stores.

Also, a mixer can be handy if you want to connect digital fx to it. Might as well get a small mixer. The moment you buy a second synth/anything, you'll need one anyway.

The background noise comes from multimedia soundcards...not audio soundcards. You would want to use midi since you are using a synth. Why don't you want to use your computer?

I don't call it background noise, I call it "ambience"! Make enough bouncing on a porta and the ambience builds up.
