I just read a long post Don wrote on a different forum. He's really excited about this keyboard. He said he's getting it ready to use on a gig tonight. He's set it up with all of his song lyrics and is using a 4GB drive and another 1 GB drive through a USB hub. All of his songs and lyrics are on the smaller one and he said he has enough memory on the 4GB to record his entire nights worth of playing so he can critique himself after he's done.
He's last statement was that this home arranger keyboard will never see the light of his home again......it will be on the job. He says he won't have to use his laptop and other equipement on the job anymore.
I'm anxiously awaiting his report and Hank B's after the gig.

The debut of the S900 went WAY better than I expected, or even hoped for. I still have a lot of minor tweaking to do, but the sound through the Bose was fantastic. Regulars in the audience all commented on how good it sounded, and I didn't tell them I had changed gear. Incidentally there was no evidence of any phase cancellation through the Bose.
I only set up one bank of registrations, so I was working with 8 setups. The rest I just called up a style and played.
I used a couple of midi files just to see they sounded, and they did fine.
It is fairly easy to call up lyrics (test files). They CAN be associated with registrations, but I haven't set any up yet, except to test.
The feature that allows you to record to portable media works great. It even assigns a name to the song, and allows you to immediately audition a new recording and choose to delete or let it stay saved.
Stupid me, I brought home the wrong USB drive, so can listen to all of them until tomorrow.

Can you play wave files on the s900 or only the ones you record on the s900?

As far as I have found, you only play back the last recording you made, in audition mode.

When you hit the button called audition mode, it takes you to the directory on your usb drive. I created a folder and called it "audio songs". You can take each song you make and cut and paste it into a folder you create and play back whatever you want. The only way you find your files in a folder or just on the root directory is to push the button below the word "audition". This is the only way to play songs. When you hit record and then hit stop, the song is called something like new audio 01, 02, etc. You then can rename. When just in "song" mode and you look through the USB directry, you only see midi files and styles and you must be in USB Audio Mode and hit audition to see a list of all your available files.

Also, you can record songs from an external ipod, CD, etc. and then play them back so that you are using your USB drive like an IPOD.
