Been thinking and talking about doing a jam
down in Cozumel Mexico south of the boarder
it could be a great event with a lot of great music and guests and fun as well as a great vacation....is there any interest from
you folks, this would be a great get-together for the membership to interact and share music and ideas as well as a few "Green Banana Margaritas" as Gary likes to drink ....think about it, kick it around and I will try to get info to put a package together for good rates...any interest and feedback would be great.....

It sounds like a good idea!!!

Unfortunality I don't see a chance of a flight to Mexico in the next 10 years...

Sheriff....A flight to Mexico should be easy
but I'm not sure what the problem is...we have a lot of visiters that come here from Germany..as a matter of fact, some of the dive shops here in Cozumel have German speaking dive instructors because we have that many German tourists...please explain...

Eddie....I'm thinking maybe in the off season down here for getting better rates...
Sept....Oct.....what do you think????

September is still off-season here and work is scarce...October gets a little busier. But either is better than November on.

I guess we have similar high seasons.

Well, Tony, I would really like to come but at the moment (I hope only at the moment) my pockets are rather empty. Maybe one of the next years it will be better? I don't know...

I've reached my lowest economic situation since I'm making studio music only. I hope that my actual recording will give me back some money of that what I've invested (but the chance is really low). I'm hard to myself and work as much as I can. But once a time the flowers will blossom. I'm strongly believing in that...and you should do so too...

Tony,
Ft Myers is on the west coast. I am on the east. Music has been part of my occupational mix all my life...but became my main livlihood when, in my early 50s, I retired from a career in advertising.

I'm sorry, I thought that Stuart was near Ft Meyers....you sound about my age....I sang in the Diplomat in Hollendale, the Sans Susi,
the Caroline Hotel with George Jessel and I believe it was the Castaways...man that was
a lifetime ago....where do you play now...
wouldn't it be nice to turn back the clock
just a little bit...mmmmm, this may be a new topic to see just what you would do different if the clock were turned back say
10-15 years or so.....

Tony, count me in as interested in coming, but not 'too soon', as I just spent my reserves on my recent cross country Florida SZ trip. Here's an IDEA: perhaps have the Cozumel town leaders sponsor it as a music festival, of which the proceeds would go towards covering the travel & lodging of the professional musicians among us performing. It sounds like a great vacation-gig opportunity to benefit everyone. - Scott

Scotty...as I mentioned on the skype call, that would be my intention, however we would have to generate a lot of interest to get the town politicians to help with something like that...it can be done...we can start our own event like the Montreal Jazz Fest....
just thinking out loud....gimme some help here and let's put it together....what say??

Tony,

I have the week of September 12 open and the weeks of October 3 and 17. I have a couple newspaper columns, but I can punch them out from anyplace in the world where I have access to a computer.

I need a real vacation and sunny Cozumel sure sounds good to me!

Cheers,

Gary

Tony,

I too would be interested but not too soon. My wife is a school teacher and has summers off so I would vote for having it during the summer when she could join me. My vote would be for June of 2006.

I dunno Tony. We just got back from Acapulco on the ship not long ago and my wife emphaticaly stated she did not want to go to Mexico again.
I guess I would just have to come down without her. DARN
Having said all that, I can be ready to go in 30 minutes so keep me current

Tom, what we are trying to do is to get a basic idea of how many members would like to participate and take note of the times that they could make it...of course, not everyone
can come at the same times but we will try to accomodate as many as possible...
I've been talking to Gary and Eddie about coming this year in Sept. just to get a feel
and to enjoy the island warmth....I'm quite sure that if the can make it, they will no doubt post reports and photos to give the rest of you an idea of what to expect...also talking to Scott Yee who can not make it until next year but wants to be included...it
could be an anual affair......musical and cultural exchange...the more the merrier....
