Yes, and yes it is. One good thing about it is that it also has the QY sound set on it(assessable only with XG-gold or Xg-wizard).
One bad thing about the SW60XG is that it is an ISA card. Many newer computers do not have an ISA interface. Also the use of an ISA card can slow down the entire PCI bus. so It might seem to slow your computer down.
It would be perfect for an older computer..

Good luck,

PS. I dont think Yamaha has updated any drivers for it in a couple of years, so you might not be able to run on win2k or XP.

Thanks DMC.................My computer is a few years old and has a spare ISA slots so I can also keep my current PCI soundcard. Will XG Works open/edit those QY sounds? I'm not familiar with them or any editors to manipulate them. Where would one find XG Gold or Wizard? Thanks again...........CHARLEY

No the XGeditor within XGWorks does not support the QS mode(Im pretty sure, but not 100%), it does support the SW60xg's regular(XG) mode. You might be able to run XG-Gold along side(at the same time) of XGWorks if you have a midi multi-client app. such as Hubis(http://www.xgfactory.com/downloads/mlbk26a.zip) or MidiYoke

Heres a link to the XG-Gold. By the way its QS mode not QY(sorry, its been a few years). http://www.yamaha.co.uk/xg/html/software/s_xggold.htm

I was wrong about Yamaha not supporting the SW60XG, they do have drivers for win2k. heres a link to a good page with drivers and other stuff to download. http://www.yamaha.co.uk/xg/html/products/p_sw60.htm

Hope it helps
