Reading about possible bugs on the new 7000 on other postings made me wonder!!!
I have only owned one new board,6000,but a group of us have owned about 18/20, between us,over a period. Not one of us have ever been contacted by the supplier and informed us about updates. We found out about them through Magazines and the Net. Surely there must be a lot of users who have never updated, and are probably happily playing on.
Or am I wrong?? Walter.

You're not wrong Walter. My dealer(s) in the UK have never notified me ( nor have Technics who must have my address on the guarantee card) of any updates. Source of info about these has only been via the web.

Am I the only One? My dealer always kept me informed of official software updates - maybe I was just lucky

My dealer would usually get the update disks after I told him about them, and my downloads always worked when his sometimes failed. Go figure!

My dealer usually have the latest updates,
but usually I have it downloaded stright from
the web as soon as it is available.
This is much easier now when we dont have to
swap any "chips" to update the OS.
Remember, there are many users who never use
the keyboards the way that they ever detect
any of the "bugs", but it would be nice if the
dealers or Technics/Panasonic cared that much
about the customers that thay sendt it without
having to ask for it.
Wondering about if we would accept it this way
if it was the car who had "bugs"?

Bill,
I think you're probably among the lucky few. Like Bud, it was a case of me notifying my dealer and not the other way round.
BTW I called at a local dealer yesterday, who has no news, no brochure etc on the KN7000. He's expecting delivery "When the van does it rounds" All he could show me were Alec's article & another article in the Keyboard Player magazine. The Technics Publicity Machine seems to have gone on holiday

I had to notify my dealer there were updates and then explain what they were for. I don't think he ever believed me, because he didn't attempt to get any updates for me. If it had not been for the web, I'd still be with whatever version came with the machine.
