You are selling your Sx900. Are you moving to another keyboard? I'm always thinking.

John, I have been playing more guitar lately. Actually having a lot of fun. The SX900 is more than I need. I may replace it with something less expensive...we’ll see.

I understand, I have been doing the same thing; playing more guitar. As much as I love keyboards, other than some foot pedals, guitar does not have any bells and whistles – it’s just me and my guitar.

I think the one reason I'd hang on to an SX900 if I were a guitarist is the Chord Sequencer.

To be able to have interactive backing that I could still control simply on the fly without having to play the chords seems like a good thing! Set up different sequences for Verse, Chorus, Bridge etc., and you could be playing guitar and still pretty easily selecting what section you want to do on the fly...

I had been underwhelmed by the last few generations of 'baby steps' improvements in Yamaha's arrangers, but I must admit, the SX900 is the hugest leap forward in decades for their model line!

Good point Diki. I’m trying to not be impulsive, which I sometimes fall victim to.

Is it possible to remotely trigger Chord Sequencer sections by MIDI?

Be extra handy to be able to cue sections with a foot switch unit. If you can’t, I’d definitely make some noise with Yamaha for them to add this. Seems like an obvious need, and easy to implement (especially if they don’t do it with sysex!).

Not sure Diki. I did go ahead and keep the SX900. The offers I was getting made it clear that replacing the keyboard and having extra cash to purchase something else, was negligible.
Thanks for talking me out of it.
