Just got freight tracking info, as long as nothing goes wrong, should be landing within 5-7 days, I had a couple people back out, so there are a few available from that order.

Lucky me, Frankieve had two Sx900 cancelations and I was able to put my name on one of the.
I’m guessing I will get my Sx900 in less than two weeks. Excited!

John C.
PS, I am in my late 80's, and I still get excited when I get a new keyboard. Nice.

Donny, I’m disappointed I thought this was one road trip we’d get you to Connecticut.

After all the great lunches Lydia and Tony have supplied me during my visits to their home, I’m the one who should buy breakfast.

You're going nowhere Rikki as with anybody else here!

It is the best feeling getting a new keyboard....

In fact... I part exchanged my Pa900 towards my SX900 and even though I didn't use it anymore when I got the Pa1000, the shop I traded it with has just put it up for sale and it made me feel a little sad seeing it again !!! Very odd isn't it, getting attached to these things! Or maybe I am odd feeling like that !!!

It sure is Danny, really perked me up after a fairly stressful last year, getting my new keyboards. I splurged and bought a p121 piano as well. Haha

The only keyboard I ever regretted selling was the kn7000 , it was the last of a great series. Everything else was replaceable, with each new model, they just kept improving.

Possibly not so much that you were attached to the pa900 itself, but the memories it held for you of playing it. So no, don’t think you’re odd. Haha

Yes, I've held on to my technics Kn1000 (although my grandson has it), my Kn6000, my Rhodes, and my Cordovox, even though the last two have not seen the light of day for a while ...

Nice replies from you both about Technics.

I feel like I've missed out here because over the years of me switching between companies, I seemed to of passed over Technics (and Roland for that matter), but I've experienced most other leading brands.

My dad has a KN5000, he only bought it as a back up because his main board the Korg Pa60 is playing up for a second time after it was already repaired once, but he saw a KN5000 for a very cheap price, it's a lovely board, it looks and feels very stylish and sounds beautiful. I have been tempted to purchase a KN7000 in the past as I've seen them going on Ebay for a very good price, but I just couldn't justify it, I have too many as it is.

Hi Danny,
only thing that put me off trying to replace my Kn 7000, was, what if something went wrong with it. They no longer made technics keyboards. Spare parts, trying to get it fixed. If I’dhung onto mine, that’s one thing, but second hand could be buying someone else’s problems.
At least with Korg, Yamaha Roland, they’re still in business making keyboards.

Danny, what Rikki says is true ... When I last needed a key replaced on my Kn6000 it took a while for me to find a technician ...
Donny (Dnj) has said the Kn5000 was one of his favorite boards ...

Hi Tony,
during the period that I had all my technics keyboards we lived in Sydney and as far as I’m aware, there was only one guy that serviced them, he actually did house calls.
He was in his mid 60’s in those days, 20 years ago, so no idea who would be servicing them now..

Unfortunately, I have this problem with my GEM WK8. It doesn't work well and you most certainly couldn't perform on it at all, the issues with it are endless. If it was difficult to find a technician when GEM were still relevant, it's virtually impossible now.

I disagree.... Both the Korg i30 and Roland G1000 were miles ahead on stage and in sales..

Features and advanced controls left the KN5000 way behind.

Things like hard drives and zip drives, touch screen and chord sequencer. Key feel. etc.

I had to make a difficult decision two weeks ago, I put my Kn7000 to sleep. All three-techs turned away because there was no backup for parts.

I saw another Kn7000 on eBay and turned it off as fast as could. For me, after many, many years, Technics is over. Sad!

John C.
PS, the Yamaha Sx900 in some ways reminds me of the Kn7.

The i30 is one of my favorite keyboards of all time and I wished I kept it. It was so advanced and sounded powerful. I still say that it sounded better than the Pa80 in some areas, like the drums. At the time of owning an i30 I also had the PSR 8000 & GEM WX2 & GEM WK6 and the i30 was better than all of these.

That’s sad John. Know how much you enjoyed it. Safer to stay away from any of the kn7 adds, just be more heartbreak if it failed. Better to move on.

Btw. I think you mentioned something about classical music? I was downloading some of the FREE Yem paks from Yamaha website, one of them was called Symphonic, apparently has some classical styles.
Haven’t had a chance to try it yet.

Hi Dave, thank you for the offer that is very kind of you. Unfortunately I don't have the room for another keyboard and as much as I'd love to have an i30 again I'd have nowhere to put. Thank you for the offer anyway smile
