Got so excited about the new SX900, I promised hubby I’d get rid of one of the keyboards.
Couldn’t sell the pa3x currently hasn’t got a battery, and has sticky plastic issue. Pa800, a key got snapped during house move. Psr s950, currently flavour of the month till I get the SX900, which left the Pa4x.
Even though he would have been happy for me just to give one or two away, I decided to humour him and put the Pa4x on eBay. I didn’t really expect to sell it , But, it did. Jokes on me . Haha

Oh well, can’t wait till the sx arrives.

If we applied the word toys instead of best keyboard, then no move is wrong. The joy of taking a new toy out of the box is in some of us, it’s very much like the Christmas holiday with the excitement and anticipation, and why not, if you can afford to do it.

I to sold my Pa4x. Do I miss it? Yes, I do. Would I sell it again? Yes, I would, I sold three of my Technics Kn7000, and they were fantastic.

Life is short, and if there is something that brings me joy, like a new keyboard, why not. Some choose perfection which is never ending. I have chosen to enjoy.

Rikki, ya did good, enjoy the new Sx900 when it comes., John C,

Hi John,
Sound wise/ feature wise, most definitely yes. One wouldn’t swap a psr for a Pa4x.
But I hardly ever played it, I kept getting distracted , spent most of the time converting psr styles across, fiddling round with style creation functions. I kept finding functions I wanted to experiment with, hadn’t even gotten to the sampler and my gigabytes of soundfonts. Decided , this is nuts, better off with a keyboard that won’t distract me to the same extent, and actually give playing ago.

Hi John,
For me they have only ever been new toys. They’re a hobby nothing more, Xmas will be early this year haha.

Didn’t realise you’d sold your Pa4x too, so what are you playing at the moment?

Kn7000 was the only keyboard I ever regretted selling. It was pretty much irreplaceable.
My husband had just gotten home after 8 months in hospital, and technics had announced they were no longer making keyboards. Made the bad decision to sell it.

Korgs are replaceable , so no regrets.

Does that mean you’re getting the SX900 too?

rikki, you once told me that you were interested in the way yamaha ntr/ntt rules works with their arpeggios
The new vArranger engine is aware of this a lot better now
not sure if you still need it

Hi Dan,
Great to hear from you.
Really ? that is great. Wow, you have a good memory.
I was planning on getting a digital piano and hoping to keep it in a seperate room from my keyboard /s if possible. VArranger might just be the solution in that case. Easier to connect a laptop up than move the keyboard back and forth and hook it up to the piano when needed.

I’ll be over. I’ve probably missed out on updates. My music was packed up for over a year, and I’m still trying to sort thru all my bits and pieces. Can’t remember when I updated last.

Thank you again.

Rikki, good luck with your new toy ! I would probably dump the 4x for the new Yamaha too, but not my 3X.
