We're always talking about new gear, and such, so it might not be "too far" off topic if I share a vintage find that I just acquired. I set up a studio for a friend who never gets rid of ANYTHING, and I horse traded some studio mics, and a few other "must haves" for a few pieces of vintage gear. I managed to sell the 80s vintage Roland TR707 drum machine, but I kept a little OD/EQ to try on my Rhodes .... It's FANTASTIC! It's a Boss ROD, and in the subtlest setting, the OD is hardly noticeable (adds some grit, but not fuzz), but the EQ really enhances the frequency of the Rhodes. I run it from the ROD into a Strymon Ola Chorus/Trem, and the result is lush, and brilliant, and wonderfully swirly. Gives me goosebumps. It really picks up the attack of the tines, and pumps up those bell tones.
BTW, I already had the Strymon, and love it.
Just wanted to crow a bit.
