I used it last night, and I am pleased so far. I would appreciate any criticism. Vocal is T.C. Helicon Harmony M.

You know what it sounds like Don?

It sounds like I need to look elsewhere for another EA7 wink

Don: It shows that you sound great no matter what arranger you use.

Thanks for sharing.

I think Don has a better feel for emulating acoustic instruments than most of us. BTW, that has nothing to do with Arrangers, it has to do with understanding what that instrument should sound like and how the actual instrument IS PLAYED. Too many instrument emulations sound like an instrument sound played like a piano. STOP DOING THAT! It sounds terrible. Nice job Don, even if I don't agree with all of your chord choices smile.

You are right about the chords! I need to revisit the original.
Some of the mistakes were because of interruptions from people, but some were just mistakes. smile

Don awesomeness for sure headphone ....as during our conversations we talked about how great the Roland sounds and styles could be with just a little bit of professional customization and once again here you have proved that with this amazing rendition on your first outing.
I can only imagine at this point once you really dig in what you could do with the EA7 and its dual displays which really make sense navigationaly especially for a live performer. Bravo!.... clap

Thanx for sharing.

EXACTLY THIS! There are too many people who play chords with a flute or saxophone sound.
Sure, you can play chords with a saxophone, but ONLY if you layer them with atleast 2 other saxophone sounds!

Well I decided to try to keep an open mind and give them a chance. Actually, there are some advantages to having two screen.
I have to admit I punched the screens a few times, but I'll get over it.
All the styles have an individual number. I spent most of a day listening to styles and trying to associate which songs fit. I made a database showing the name of the song, the number of the style, the original artist and notes, such as tempo, var or ots settings.
I can call up any of these by using the Numeric function on the keyboard.
In addition I saved about 40 Performance Memories so far, giving instant access to some of the songs I do regularly and some generic styles that fit numerous songs.
Basically the left screen shows style info and the right screen shows sounds.
The screens are easier to see that I thought they'd be.
I have one situation to address before tonight. The Harmony M is connected to midi out on the keyboard to send chord changes. Seems it is also sending Control Changes and keeps turning off my reverb. I can fix it from either the keyboard midi out settings, or the Harmony M receive settings. I had to make that adjustment last time I used it on a different arranger, but I forgot.

Don each gig will bring with it more and more experiences & familiarity and more custom edits here and there, ....The EA7 definitely has run under the radar and is an amazing arranger keyboard that with some patience can be made to really be a Heavyweight performer in a Lightweight affordable package, besides the Dual displays Sliders,
and all the On deck buttons to let a player be so flexible during live play too.
Can't wait to hear more. keys

I think we have a player/demonstrator amongst us of the class of Peter Baartamins (sp). That was one soulful rendition of a classic. It had some real Southern Soul to it. I picked up some interesting chord changes that I thought made the tune come to life. I will be using them the next time I perform the tune. Excellent sounding keyboard and very cool arrangement.

Thank you for all the things you do Don....

Thanks guys.
Salsman, I think you are referring to the little walk at the start of the verses,
Playing d minor, I just moved the bottom note of both left hands from d to c# to b, back to C#. I'm in intelligent 2 mode, which doesn't change chords until you hit 3 notes together.
Off to work now...

Hey Don. Sounds real good. You posted this tune a few weeks ago on the Korg and I think this rendition sounds much better, Partly due to the drums with brushes. Can’t wait to hear more. Thanks for posting!
