You could import and convert styles from other keyboards, at least you could Roland styles.
However it is the only brand on which I ever had to worry about breaking keys. They were not that strong. I remember replacing several.
My friend DickieT bought a KN800 because I had one at the time. He left it in the trunk of his car and the plastic case melted. It still worked but it was really ugly. smile
I had 800, 1000, 2000, and 5000. I sold the 5000 to DNJ. Still selling him stuff. smile

The KN5000 will always be one of my favorite arrangers.

Well, even Casio could do that.
My old CTK-731 came with a Floppydisk that had 3 songs on it and some style convertion thingy.

It could import (i kid you not) Roland styles and even some Technics styles. The Roland styles always worked flawless, but the Technics styles were troublesome, 98 out of the 100 styles didn't work.

Donny, I'm not picking on you, just presenting an alternative viewpoint. First and foremost, when was it EVER a good idea to restrict the number of choices....for ANYthing? As a trained volunteer in a program sponsored by the Unitarian Church, I used to teach a course in decision making to inmates in our local prison (the program was called THRESHOLDS). The idea was that the cause of most of their problems was poor decision making. One of the main premises of the program was that the more possibilities one had to choose from, the better the decision-making process. This didn't GUARANTEE a good outcome but it did improve the chances. I think that theory applies here as well. Besides, it kind of arrogant to think, 'because I only need a few, you should also only need a few', don't you think? Freedom of choice, baby, that's 'where it's at' smile.
