Your very welcome ....My point is how as a performer you need to connect with people and that's what it's all about....

One of the all time greats for sure. He also has the honor of having one of the oldest bands around. His sister, who plays piano with him, is 87. Willie himself is 85 and the drummer (Paul English) is between the two in age if I recall. So there is hope for all of us seniors.

Willie is only one year older than me... but musically, he had a 50 year "head-start" and I'll never be able to catch up. LOL! (In my dreams!) He is one of the most prolific song-writers ever and most of his catalogue is multi-genre... not just "country."

What I like most about him, other than his talent, is his down-to-earth attitude and respect for his fellow man. He often stopped off in Texarkana to visit my Co-writing friend's father, a popular Radio Show Host (we used to call them Dee Jays) and they would Jam into the night at the Hackworth home... as did many of the Nashville crowd at that time. Even Elvis and the Colonel.

S970 (as Gary would say lol) one take and record a short Lead Harmonica solo on Willie's Nelsons "Crazy"

Donny, I've always used the 12-8 Ballad style for Crazy, second intro, or just played my own.

Gary never tried it with that 12/8 style just doesn't have the right feel for my liking...
.....but give us an example when you get a chance maybe it could work?..

Gary yes it all came back to me as I listen to the 12/8 style it surely can work for crazy also,....when I get a chance I will record the same lead solo harmonica using the 12/8 style as I did above to compare ok?
