Done by the Norbert Ludewig Orchestra. He was my best friend felled by cancer at age 53 almost 4 years ago..

He played a Tyros 2 here, backed by live drummer, flute, and violinist. Recorded live in Boston 2009 on his laptop to BIAB thru Motu FireWire interfaces.

Here is the most beautiful version of this song I've ever heard done by him; he played a Petosa AM1100 midi accordion on it..

Sparky.....the penny just dropped! I didn’t recognize the name.....Norbert Ludewig. Suddenly I DID recognize it. I didn’t know he passed. We spoke a few times on the phone back in late 2012 and I was under the impression he was in recovery. It must have come back unexpectedly and with a vengeance.

I feel bad both for you AND I feel bad for Norbert. I never met him but he sounded like a very nice fellow on the phone. And.....he had a terrific reputation both as a musician AND as a decent human being.

As I thought about it, listening to this beautiful version of Danny Boy, that phrase came back in my thoughts. "Only the good die young." I reflected over that. Why DO the good people die young?

Please add my condolences also. The local music scene here lost a great talent and.....a nice guy.

Thank you..I appreciate that. It came without warning. He fought for 2 years. After getting out of the towers, in 1993, and 2001..he couldn't survive cancer. But he was a wonderful friend, teaching me everything he knew about audio, equipment, the band business, etc that I didn't know on my own.

I'm a better man for knowing him, and simply grateful to have been called his friend.
