I bought this one from Frank for a good price:

http://gatorcases.com/products/keyboard/...ig-bag-g-pg-76/

Light weight and protects my KB sufficiently with thick padding.

Is the gator gig bag perfect for the Genos? Or is there some sloppiness?

I bought a Gator from Donny a few years ago - it was perfect for my technics KN6000... when I switched to the Pa900 it was a little big so I got some 3" thick foam rubber strips and velcroed them to the sides - PERFECT ...

Apparently the 2 cases I bought years ago by Guardian are no longer made. I have a 61 key and a 76 key model. As I recall I bought them on the advice of Gary D and Donny. The 76 fits thePa4x with a little wiggle room on each side I use foam padding that was included with the case. The Genos actually fits like a glove and offers solid protection.

I love the thick straps....although some say only a HARD SHELL CASE should be used on a $5000 keyboard like Genos,.. .....but these thick padded softer versions shown will be sufficient for sure also..

These are the two I’m considering,

http://gatorcases.com/products/keyboard/...ig-bag-g-pg-76/

http://gatorcases.com/products/keyboard/...ls-gtsa-key76d/

I like the weight of the lighter case and the protection of the heavier case.

Often I transport my keyboard on a cart. The Genos would rest on one of the arms of the cart the way I transport. In a soft case, Genos would be the support.

I transported my 4X in an SKB hardshell, I felt a lot more secure about the hardshell.

I've got the Tyros 3 "Soundwear" soft case from Thomnann. Very good fit and construction. Would happily get the Genos version were I so fortunate as to have a Genos!

However I'm not out multiple times a week. If I was out that much I'd seriously consider a hard case such as those suggested.

A friend has a "Thon" 19" 8U rack case and it is rock solid, that's a wood panel model.

There seems to be another player in the case market. Although finding a dealer and the right size case might be a trick.

I'd like to know how much this one weighs, and where to get it in US:
https://www.thomannmusic.com/yamaha_scc_genos_keyboardbag.htm?ref=search_rslt_ycc+genos_422702_7

or:
https://www.thomannmusic.com/soundwear_stagebag_genos.htm

No weight on the web site, and don't know if they ship to US.

(to Gitpic1) - yes, I have a Fusion 10 for my T5, it's very nice. Wheels are a major plus. I might get a Fusion 11 for my Genos, if I can find one in USA ... -Jim

Hi - sorry - I never updated my profile (just did it) ... since this is the Cases thread, I'll not write any general Genos/T5 comparison etc here (have written a bit elsewhere, we can also take that discussion to PMs maybe) ...

I do need to get a case soon, so i'm glad that there are lots of options out there ...

That Fusion bag(F3 11) looks promising. If that isn’t available U.S., I’ll probably go with this one.

Googling brings up that the 88 note Soundwear keyboard bag is 3.7kg, about 8lbs.

My Tyros 3 Soundwear bag looks very similar to that Genos bag and I'd say it's about 8lbs as well.

I'd be surprised if Thomann do not ship stateside.

I went ahead and ordered one of these:

https://www.thomannmusic.com/soundwear_stagebag_genos.htm

it's under 10 lbs. weight, and seems like a decent fit based on dimensions.
The Fusion bags I liked were harder to find in USA, where as Thomann Music
was already ready to ship to US ...

I'll know in a week (or 2?) and can report back on it ...

Jim

I got a deal if I kept both cases...so I did keep both. Also, the cost of shipping the hardshell case back was a bit pricey.

If I sell one it would be the hard shell...great case but a bit bulky. If it had been 80% less size than it is, I would be using it regularly.

I have a hard shell case for Ketron 76 for sale. Used once. It was built way better than the keyboard!!! smile Only joking, don't get in an uproar. But it is a well built case.
It would fit any 76 note arranger.

I use that one, if it is the one Frank sold me with my Audya. It may not be as strong as a molded case, but it is light plywood and better protection than a soft case and just a little heavier. For a medium duty hard case, I like it.
