The IDE Interface is slower than most modern HDD, therefore there is no advantage to installing a faster SSD, plus most arrangers never use the full speed of the interfaces they have anyway, (Not forgetting that most are also limited to the capacity of drive they can use) so just stick with a HDD, as they are still cheaper than SSD.

the best option by far is to upgrade to the USB/SD card reader. up to 32gb SD and 32gb USB. SD replaces the hard disk and is hot swappable.
