I love my PA4X!!

I guess that tells you something Don,.....people are bored I guess and are looking for a bit more....just sayin'....
glad your enjoying your KORG PA4x.... I'm afraid the mood will stay like this until a NEW TOTL arranger comes to market to boost morale.
Meanwhile we're talking music somehow.

Don’t know about others, but I’m playing my two arrangers almost daily----one for live gigs and the other at the house. Both Yamahas. They fit beautifully for what I do; but, I’m hankering to go back to guitar some, using the new Band In A Box software, or tracks from Yamaha arrangers. Both work great in providing backings for the solo routine.

I hear you I do that all the time ....in fact a while back I recorded almost every song I do as a "backing track" using the arranger kb leaving out the parts I would play or sing.....it took some weeks but I did a few each day till it was done glad I did..
never know when you need backup for other things..

I love my Tryos, as well as my Kronos...

But in the end i see this more as a place where arranger players can discuss things concerning Music... Then a place where musicians can discuss Arrangers..

Talking arrangers, I'm really enjoying the Roland E50, I've loaded the BK-7 styles all of which sound very well. In fact, listening to some of the styles, I realised that some of the backing tracks I currently use I created on the G70. Memory
fading fast.

Speaking of arrangers, my PA4X will arrive tomorrow! It took about 5+ weeks from the time I ordered until now! Hope it was worth the wait.

Must be a hot item. I think Korg is struggling to keep up with the orders. All the stores I called had a waiting list!

Don, I think that many people who own arrangers played other instruments in their "previous lives". The natural instinct is to share other musical experiences, first; then other life lessons, experiences, etc.


For instance, you and I have a lot of similarities (except for height, ya big dufus), including working careers in and out of the music business.

Arrangers are used for less than 25% of my playing income, which is 25% of my total income.

But, even at my age, I learn stuff about music and humanity in general here.

I listen carefully to everyone (except YOU...just kidding)and enjoy the remarkable differences....the good and the bad...between people.


It's kind of like the Pawn Stars show, or the one about the two antiques dudes traveling the country buying antiques. They're not about what you think. The characters are endearing (especially the tattooed sweetie on the Pickers show) and you easily forget what the show premise is. My favorite is the Alaskan Gun show with the silly shop manager and Phred, the cute little salesman who can out shoot all the guys.

I'm using a 15 year old Solton by choice and am minimally interested in newer technology or techniques, since, mostly, I just use the drums and pedal activated break features with left-handed bass.

I check in every day I'm in the office and don;'t visit any other site.

Maybe that "bit more" could be actual "music talk" instead of "musical instrument talk."

I'm pretty fortunate...the Tyros4 is great for both "live" play and studio work...at least for all my needs.

Occasionally I might midi an 88-note weighted action digital piano to the T4 for solo piano pieces, and I sometimes run an old Yamaha CS-01 mono synth through the Tyros4's Vocal/mic input for some authentic analog sounds, but otherwise, just the arranger keyboard alone is all I've needed these past few years.

The ability to re-program styles, along with the Tyros4's great SA/SA2 voices being able to be utilized in said styles has kept my instrument current, at least to my ears.

I took the initiative to post synthesizer-related topics in the General Forum of Synthzone to revive it.
Of course this would take months until a higher number of users are attrated there.
Bachus has just said he prefers to continue discussing it in this forum. I would like to continue posting in the other section and see if others will join the few of us there over time.

Dave, I sold my PA3X in December. There may be some for sale on the Korg forum, and there are lots of them on Ebay.

Yup ... even Frankie has one up on eBay, but they're selling too well! Too rich for this retired guy's budget. (not me - the band mate I spoke of)

I still have my G70 and a hernia and bad back.

Just came in from my band rehearsal. The Roland BK9 I have is doing a great job as a "band keyboard". Mostly Hammond , Piano and Bass for now but it does sound pretty good. Just a thought but if your into the Korgs maybe stay with what your comfortable with.
