I thought I never recorded a live performance until I recently discovered a cassette recording of "Until It's Time For You To Go" (Elvis) that I did back around 1980 with a cheapo Sony portable stuck in the corner of the room and a lot of audience noise between me and the recorder.

It was in my prime when I was using 3 keyboards and 2 sound modules all MIDI'd together, vocals and I had great sounds that I tweaked on the DX7.

I've been listening to it for weeks now 'cause it's still one of my favorite songs and I'm hoping the recording eventually prompts me to start playing again, even if it's just for myself!

It's a little embarrassing (the recording) but if anyone would like to hear it I'll post it as an mp3.

I actually still play that song occasionally. GOOD TASTE IN TIMELESS MATERIAL!

That's a good idea, but the simple answer to that is....

I haven't done an arranger job in about 4 years now. Remember...that's when I burned out, about 3-4 years ago.

I also don't have the recording equipment.

And I'm also so used to playing the piano now, I'm not as conversant on an arranger as I was when I was playing regularly.

This song is so beautiful. I play it on the piano every day and then listen to the Elvis version in between.

Russ.......it's a great song, but not a lot of people know it. I never played it that much in live performances.

Don.....that song is older than Santa Claus. I even have a version of it sung by Vera Lynn. She was born around 1917 but I think she recorded it around 1950-1960.

I'd actually like to hear some of the members record their own version of it.

Mark, I know that. Didn't you see the tongue in my cheek? smile
I'll try to find a recent recording of me doing it. It's a great song.
Your Korg has a built-in recorder, btw!
