G'day Professors,
Today I thought my KN7 was about to expire. While trying to record in the panel memory it would not accept and hold a change of rhythm (style) when I requested a variation to suit the music I was trying to save. It always changed every position in the Panel Memory to the new setting. Nothing I could see was OFF that should not be OFF, nothing was ON that should not be ON. I finally (by accident)noticed when holding the P/M SET button I was in NORMAL mode and not EXPAND mode.
Now this is a function I have no desire to change from EXPAND, and I wondered how it suddenly became a problem.
The only answer I can find is that when previously playing a style of someone else which I had been given, (do not know who) they must have had the mode changed to NORMAL.
Just for the benefit of anyone who may have had a similar occurrence.
It did frighten the hell out of me for a while !!!!!!!!!

See Ya !!!

Ray

Hi Roger, you are safe,( it's a bugger being perfect),I am most of the time.
John, I am always smiling when i play my KN7, good playing with yours.
On another note......many of the songs and styles I have collected over time have the split point at second position, (hi! Mr Norrie), which limits ME playing Rt.hand below middle C, in particular "piano".
I play all left hand chords between the two F's when rhythm is used with split keyboard, (old organ training).
Is there a particular reason for this split position???

Hi Ray,

I think the reason that the split point is often set to the second position is because that is the default used with the Styleworks program. And many of the Songs you're using will have been converted with that.

However, you should set your Expand Mode Filters (Page 76) so that you keep your favourite split point every time you load any Songs etc. You only have to set it once and then your split point will not change again.

Regarding the start of this thread... What are you thinking??? Letting other people TOUCH your KN7000???! laugh

Best wishes,
Mike

I set mine to second because I play the right hand an octave higher and then transpose it down one octave...why...because i'm more comfortable with my right hand higher up the keyboard away from in front of my body.

Ah ! Roger, now i know I am among the elite. I do exactly that for the same reason, but i still like the piano or strings, sometimes, that octave lower as an option to vary the sounds without having to push buttons.
