Kinda frightening to think that my son, who will turn 50 next year, is slated to see a colorectal surgeon in a couple months to have his first exam, something that every person over age 50 should have. I sent this to him to boost his spirits about the procedure.

All the best,

Gary cool

While we are spoiling breakfast. . . I have a musician friend who tells a story about going for a physical exam.
The doctor happened to be a female and had a female P.A. Doc was checking his rear end and the P.A. was examining him for hernia. Doc asked if he was doing o.k. and he told her, "O.K?!, I have a lady with her finger up my butt and another with my balls in her hand, my wife made the appointment, the insurance is paying for it! When can we do this again?!" smile

Ron, my friend swears this is mostly true. If you knew him, you'd now it just might be so!

Don this happened to me, a female P.A. Doc checking my prostrate. When she was done I reached up while putting my arms her I shouted, “I love you, I love you”.

True story, John C.

Gary at one time this procedure was very uncomfortable. My last two exams were a breeze. I felt nothing and had a great breakfast at Cracker Barrel right after.

I’m betting that the one who cares hurts more than the patient.

But on the more serious side. I was recently contacted by a friend of Bob Hendershot on the Technics Forum that he is in his final days. http://www.synthzone.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/404890/Bob_Hendershot_is_very_ill#Post404890 He said this could have been avoided but Bob never had a colonoscopy examination. Now it is too late.

I've had more of those I've lost count. The last one was a lady a lot more gentle. grin

Wish you son the very best Gary.

So sorry to hear the news about Bob. He is a great guy.
Colonoscopy saved my wife's life. She had one at 46, and they discovered colon cancer. Had surgery and chemo for a year. Now cancer-free for 10 years!

I had my first one without any medicinal assistance. I was told I couldn't drive for 24 hours legally after the procedure.

When Told i could have the procedure without "help", I chose that route. I can tell you that left turn into the large intestine is a BOOGER!

I'll have another (2nd) procedure soon, and will have it without assistance. Can't accord the time off.

I'll just "grin and BARE it!

I have had 4 or 5 - they were so enjoyable I lost count.... to me the "preparation" has always been the worst part.

Best wishes to your son Gary for his venture into "what we do when we become older and wiser"....
