Hi Fellas,
I purcased an Mp3 file of the Pointer Sisters song "I'm So Excited". I wanted to eliminate the vacal track. When I tried to do so, all that was accomplished was a lowering of the vocals and some of the instruments; almost as if some of the vocals were recored on some of the instrumental tracks.
I purchased the Mp3 on Amazon. Is there a reliable company that produces tracks I can load onto my PA900 and simply remove the vocals?
Thanks Frank

Filtering vocals on an MP3 is much more like an EQ on steroids, it just filters out the frequencies of the vocals and if there are instrument parts in the same frequency range they are filtered out too..

There is no such thing as tracks on an MP3 file, its a single co pressed audio track.

True, Bachus. With all the wonderful technology about, I've yet to hear a fully successful 'vocal remover'.

Here is the site I use.

Custom backing tracks, and you can remove anything you wish.

http://www.karaoke-version.com/custombackingtrack/the-pointer-sisters/i-m-so-excited.html

Once you purchase the track you can modify it as many times as you like.

Jerryghr

Nice one, multi track recordings, that get converted to MP3 as you change them...

Imagine your arranger had a multi track recorder, you could just download the sepperate tracks and play with it on your arranger..

Hi Dnj,
That really wasn't a bad recording. The instruments on some of these things sound horendous.
So you are saying that's a Karaoke track? Where do they sell good ones like the one you demoed?
Thanks Frank

It's really hit or miss in quality as so many companies make them.....you have to search and listen to a few versions before you choose whats right for you..... I find iTunes karaoke gives you the newest and vast choice for each song most only 99cents...just type in the Title of the song with the word "Karaoke" after it in the iTUne search. "I'm So Excited Karaoke" headphone

Also you can look on you tube the same way if you find something just convert to MP3 only. cool2

Removing Vocal track is an it or miss situation and depends heavily how the vocals were recorded. Vocals recorded dead center have better chance of being eliminated.
