I can't speak highly enough about the recording quality and capabilities of the Roland VS 1680. I use this exclusively for all of my live recordings. Check it out at your dealer...you'll love it!

There's a newer model out now called the VS1880 which has 24 bit I/O, improved CD burning capabilities and 18 tracks.

Also Yamaha's AW4416 is awesome- the best recorder of this kind- it has everything you could imagine!!!! Awesome.

Also check out Akai's new DPS16- SOS gave it a good review and highly recommended it.

Korg's D16 is also a good bet but make sure you have the Version 2 OS in it.
