As I have most gear covered now, there's one peace of gear left which needs to be replaced, which is my sblive card.
So I am looking for a sound/audiocard or a mix of add on cards, which should be able to do following;
A/D conversion
24 bits recording
preferable; 8 analoge ins
preferable; usb drivers
a Must; compatible with CoolEdit Pro

I don't need any wave tables or midi as I
use external gear and the midipatchbay I use
doesn't need a soundcard as well.

I am very bad with small lcd screens, so I do not want to go for a harddisk recording unit.
Also my pc handles far over 50 audio tracks without any problem, so no problem there as well.

Any suggestions ???? thanks, Fred

Hey,
If your want an interface with 8 analog ins and 24bit DACS you should check out the M Audio Delta 1010, Aardvark Aark 24, or the Echo Layla (coming soon). Hope that helps.

The above mentioned are great! The echo Layla24 will have a choice between 8 analogue ins and outs and ADAT I/O.

THe MOTU 2408 is also worth checking out with it's 8 analogue ins and outs (wait for the 2408 mark 2 to ship- it will have balanced TRS connectors!).

Do you use a digital mixer like a Yamaha O3D or O1V? If so then you could look at something like Creamware Pulsar 11 or Soundscape Mixtreme and get either the ADAT or TDIF card for your mixer and hook that directly to the card. Both of these options offer powerful DSP based mixing seperate from the computer as well as expandability and compatability with most audio software.
