After reading the current issues and opinions of the 900, I have a couple questions:

1. Is the 900 as good as the 800?
2. Is the 900 very inferior to the 3x, such as the 500/600 in comparison to the 800?
3. What about the keybed in comparison to the 800?

It appears they might have cut some corners on the 900. I still think the 800 is of terrific value and upwards to $3000 still. For < $2000, the 900 sounds more like the 500/600 skeleton.

Thanks for your thoughts.

The 900 replaces the 800, just like the 600 replaced the 500 and the PA3x the PA2x, in all cases the newer models give you more for a similar sort of price, however whether it is with upgrading from a previous model is down to whether the user finds the new and upgraded features are worth the money. (Most users trade in their old instruments for the new so the cost to change is less than the new price)

Hope this helps

Bill

Pa3x is top dog for an all around pro arranger..I'd say more feature wise then Tyros 4......but Tyros 4 has the nod in sound.

Depends on what the 'sound' is you are looking for...

You want to sound like a live band, you might want to give the nod to Korg!

I think I prefer the key feel on this PA900 to all the other combo units I've owned. It's solid and tight, and the keys are just the right size. If I was not so fussy about my voice, this would be a dream machine, just the way it is.
