Help!!! I set the style on ballad piano and then started to play using #1 on my registration. When I pressed #2 on the registration, the style change and the accompaniment went off.
How do I keep the style the same for 8 registration numbers. I read the manual and it doesn't say. PLEASE HELP

I'm not familiar with the 550, but if it has Registration Freeze function, go into the Freeze menu and check the parts you want to remain on when you change Registration while the Freeze light is on.

I believe there's no 'freeze' function on PSR-S550.

The only way to freeze the style - to make other registrations with this style. It's not a great solution, but this's the way it is. This is an operation system which Yamaha uses on some of their keyboards, it's not very suitable for some situations.

Why not ask on psrtutorial.com
Someone there will know if there is a way.

I went through the manual several times, and there is no freeze function, and no way that I could find to select what features the registrations saves. Kinda what's on the screen is saved into the registration, even if it's not activated.

It's a low end keyboard with very few features.

travlin'easy, well, there was time when there was such a keyboard as PSR-550 (not "S"), which was also a low end keyboard, but there were such functions as 'freeze', or 'direct access' in it. But then Yamaha thought 'the users of low entry keyboards don't want this sophisticated stuff, let's not confuss them anymore!' So, now everything below PSR-S750 (which is more than $1,500 in Russia) represents this concept of simplification. But the same thing is happening to all kinds of stuff, not only keyboards. Even to LEGO’s )

Yes, I know - I owned both the PSR-500 and PSR-550, both of which had a huge number of features and really sounded great. With this new "S" series, there is a tremendous difference. Lots of great features were just not included with the low-end models of the S series.
