The 650 does not have midi ports, but does have usb to host and usb to device ports. Does anybody know if midi signals/commands can be sent via the usb to device port to an external sound module, like a Ketron SD2 (no usb port; has midi in/thru)? I have cable that is usb to midi...Or do I need to go to the 750 and beyond for that?

sparky,

The USB Host connector is for to a computer and the computer must have the Yamaha USB Driver installed to work with the computer.

If you want to connect to your Ketron module, you will have to do it through your computer or an external USB MIDI box and I don't know the names of any off hand, but there are a few available.

The 750 would not be a problem.

There is a box called iConnectMidi which is a canadian company that make a box that can connect iPhone, iPad or any product with a USB midi socket (PSRS650) to any midi module or keyboard. I have been selling these for sometime. They are not cheap, about $175.00 but they can do a whole lot of things. Look them up online.

Thank you George- I was just looking at it, and at the Kenton box. Midi Solutions doesn't make one? They make one for everything else.
