I enjoyed your performance, well played, nice instrumentation, clap ....but, honestly for me the tempo was a bit too fast, especially for dancing a Cha Cha, etc,...for my Prof Ballroom dancing crowds here's an example of the tempo I would use.

Thanx for sharing your work

Donny thanks for your honest reference

about the tempo you are completely right , I did'nt mean to play it for dancing but more for hearing.

thanks

dud.......you did a really great job on this piece. I don't know why more people in this forum didn't compliment you. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to you play for the full five minutes. Nice ideas, good technique, in command of the song, etc. Even the PA800 sounded great. I wasn't aware it could sound that good until I heard YOU play it!

Now you were performing it at appx 140 BPM when Donny brought it down to 120 BPM. But that's to YOUR credit, that you could play that fast for a full five minutes and still come up with good ideas.

As for the tempo, I totally understand what you were doing....playing as entertainment, not dancing. But Donny's tempo change has improved the piece by 100% to the point where it was relaxing and yet strong enough that I wanted to get up and dance (I'm a big Santana fan BTW).

Having commended you on this piece, now I only want to give you a suggestion. Don't stay active all the time.....meaning allow the instruments to breathe and the listeners to catch their breath at the same time. You do what I do a lot.....try to fill up every measure when the real beauty is in the spaces between notes. Also try to sustain notes more here and there to break up the furious action.

Otherwise, again, I really enjoyed listening to that and am looking forward to hearing some more of your work (and the PA800!).

Mark

Hi dud, I really enjoy you're playing. Your song selection is right up my alley smile I do aree however that a cha-cha-cha style should be a tad a bit slower (even just for listening) Of course YMMV... thanks for posting!
