John, I'm guessing that the majority of the active posters here on SZ are over, or at least around, 50 years old...with some a fair bit older, and a few a tad younger.

In my opinion, playing music tends to keep people young, at least at heart.

I started using arrangers when I was 30 or so, and I'm now 63...still love them.

Ian

Lets see... Interesting move from Yamaha, Bert usually does synth demos; him doing arranger demos would be fun. If he can convince the synth players to switch to an arranger, that would be ice cream to Eskimos. smile

rotfl I belong to the "below 30" group. I don't earn any money out of playing these awesome instruments; the pleasure it gives me after a long day at work goes much beyond the money... And talking of money, in the compromise between budget and quality, budget has the upper hand as of now wink

And when I get to "40 plus" age group, like many here on SZ, quality may take precedence over budget while choosing arrangers. Hopefully I will have improved beyond simple chord progressions and amateur playing. All this, if both me and arrangers are around then wink

But honestly, Bert makes the motif line boards sound so good and arrangements with button pushes seemed seamless that I thought it can be used as an arranger. And when I tried it in the store, realised it is difficult for me to use it as an arranger even though pros tell its possible.

Ian less of the "tad" grin - I just turned 36 so have a fair bit to go before I reach the sz average dance

Stein, I was just guessing at the "average" age, based on what I thought were the more frequent posters.

It would be interesting to see just what is actually the "average" age for SZ arranger users.

I know Telmo, Joost, and Scott Yee are a few who I would consider young'uns. wink

Only kidding Ian - I'd imagine you're right with your initial comments in the main. I couldn't let a chance slide to sound young though!! Nothing beats a bit of self-delusion rocker

Don, I seem to have a lot of time lately. Ship that 950 to me and I'll be happy to make some videos for you. Of course, they won't be as good as what you would do I'm sure. sofa
