Can anyone think of an American pop song for the '60's style which is based on the British band, the Shadows (which was not very popular in America)?

I made a quick video with the new 'Coldplay' style. I'm not sure how well known Coldplay is in the U.S. of A.?

I really liked your treatment of that song. You demonstrated great technique and feel, and you're pretty nimble with the buttons on your T4.

Joost,

Just a question about your drums on this piece, do you have them tweaked in any way or is the style stock settings?

Noticed the drums are quite well defined and sound more live than some I've heard on T4.

Nice job on the performance...

Thank you both for your comment. I didn't change anything on the sounds, although I have to say that this style and OTS registrations are quite 'dry' without much reverb, compared to other Yamaha styles. When I just play the melody together with the style (after the piano piece), it sounds boring.

Best Regards,

Joost

BTW, Coldplay is huge in the States. Just probably not amongst most of the membership of this forum!

I listened to all the Premium style demos, most could be categorized as good to excellent, however, I did note that the drums seemed subdued. Then, after looking at the position of the keyboard's sliders, I believe that would account for the subdued drum sounds.

Cheers,

Unless the player actually moved the sliders after calling up the registration, shouldn't the slider's physical position have no effect on the balance of the style?

Given how subdued the drums tend to be in MOST Yamaha styles, I would tend to think that you ARE hearing the default mix!

Very nicely done, Joost...I especially like your piano intro.

Coldplay is well known here in Canada.

I'm not sure, Diki. I believe the sliders on the T4 can be set to a multitude of functions, but I haven't been able to find the information in the manual. I'm working blind on this one, and I could be wrong. If anyone out there owns a T4 I would hope they could shed some light on this.

Thanks,

Gary cool

I was introduced to Coldplay a few years ago through the music programs at my grandchildrens' schools ... Granted, not what I might normally have playing on the stereo or in the car, but there is some nice stuff there ...

Hi Gary,
Diki is right on that one.
The position of the sliders have no effect if you call up a new style or registration.
Only then, if you move the sliders, will changes take effect.
Eric

Hi all,

How odd, I am trying to purchase the 10sBritRockPop style for my Tyros3 but it says it isn't compatible with it? However, it says it is compatible for Tyros2 ? How does that work? Not sure what I should do now, I may as well buy the Tyros 4 version and hope it works on the T3 ???

huh? I love Coldplay, does that mean the membership of this board loves Coldplay?

Diki, you are running wild lately with your generalizations.
