Thanks for the complements everyone.

Brian, using a cable with a 1/8-inch stereo plug at one end, and a 1/4-inch stereo plug at the other end, I plug the 1/4-inch stereo plug into the keyboard's headphone out jack and the other end goes into the Zoom H2 Line-In. I set the recording input level of the Zoom to about 60 and just press the record button. It's a one-shot deal, no effects editing at all, and the Zoom saves the recording as an MP3. I then put the song into Audacity and trim the ends before uploading it to Box Net.

The Style is one that Charlie Ohram (Rattley) sent me many years ago. It was originally created for Sounds Of Silence. Here's a link to the style for anyone that wishes to use it: Sounds of Silence style

Cheers,

Gary cool

Thanks Gary. I never thought of going through the headphone out. Very simple. Of course, since I believe you are using the Yammie built in mic and harmonizer it picks up both the vocal and keys. My E60 doesn't have built in mic or harmonizer so or have I missed something? Or do you have your vocal mic plugged into one of the zooms xlr outs?

Cheers,

Brian(non techie) but getting' there.

I'm using the TC Helicon Harmony-M Vocal Harmonizer and sending the output of the TC into the keyboard's Mic/Line-In and a Crown CM-311A headset mic. The keyboard is a Yamaha PSR-3000, which is an antique by today's standards, but it still sounds pretty good to me.

Essentially, everything is going through the keyboard, which for me, really makes life easier. No mixers, fewer cables to contend with, and when I need MP3s, which is only for breaks, they're fired from my netbook PC directly to the Bose 1/8-inch input, thereby bypassing the keyboard entirely.

Cheers,

Gary cool

Hi Brian

I'm using a Korg Micro Arranger a Korg iH harmoniser into a Zoom R16 recorder.

Reverb and Chorus are from the R16, the lead vocal into a mono input, the harmony into a stereo input and the keyboard into another stereo input making 5 tracks in all.

To do any editing you can import the 5 wav files into Audacity carry out any tweaking then export into a MP3 file.

Kind Regards

Col

You've got it down Gary! My E60 doesn't have a mic line in. mad
I use an Audio Technica headset mic, a TC Helicon Harmony G XT for my guitar. I use a BOSE Compact without the T1 mixer for smaller venues or solo. For larger I use the BOSE L1 Model 2 and the T1. Oh yeah I forgot that I am wireless on mic and guitar just to add some more complication!
I figure trying to remember how to hook up all the moving parts will stave off Alzheimer's! laugh
I have lots of complicated ways to record but nothing as simple as you!
Thanks!

Brian
