Thats not possible either, if their Guns are as good as Audya you'll end up being wounded and not killed.

I had a Roland EM2000 which came with the 100mb zip floppy. It had all of my styles, midi's etc. one day it stopped working right before a gig, so much for my back-up.

I called roland the following monday and they wanted to charge me for the disk after only a few months of ownership. I learned quick, I had to buy a external zip drive for my computer and make extra zips. Up until I brought the Roland, I had no need for a zip drive. I guess I learned the hard way. Sold the Roland and the zip as a package deal.

Nedim,

It's just the world we live in, we are being slowly stuffed, robbed and then laughted at, like MC you dont do it twice, there won't be another Audya story like this or will there??? Even Bill Gates wouldn't do this to you, you buy a PC and you get a XP backup disk, the basic system to get you up and running again. These Kb are getting to clever for thier own good and when things go wrong it's big style.

MC,

The difference is simple the Audya will not run without the HDD, the T1,2 & 3 will, the tyros HDD and some other Ketron products HDDs are optional. You know if you buy an Audya and you don't have a PC and you just want to play, it's not a good idea!

Well, when I got my first Audya with verson 2 I tried to back up the HDD via the back USB port. everything was going well, but when the sound loops started to load the backup stopped and the Audya HDD got corrupted!!! THe machine stopped working. Good thing for Frank being close by...
I wonder if there is a 'self distruct' mechanism so that people could not 'steal' the loops that Ketron R&D have spent so much creating. Nothing wrong with that but I still bring a back up...as a matter of fact the Audya sound chip quit on me. Right in the mid of a song, right in front of my audience last Friday. THis Friday, just after one week, I am back there again. I hope that Frank can make the keyboard well again...
WHat other alternative I have?

Evev if you caused this HD crash when try backup and how to probably not described in the manual,
this is another sad story, and it's sure add more bad publicity for Ketron!
As far as I know, stop in the read datastream from a source/HD should not damage the source even
if the contents are protected, so there most be another reason for the HD failure.

When a high end keyboard like Audya depend on the HD to start up the OS and be ready to play,
then there most be a backup solution that works. As many of us already know, it's not a question
about if a HD will fail, probably more a question about when it will happen, and that make it
even more important to be able to restore the data quick and easy.
It can't be that hard to create a backup routine or even put a restore DVD for the OS in the box.
But when it comes to the audio files, it's most likely a huge amount of data who will need some
storage space and quite a long time to transfer?

Hardware faults can happen whatever keyboard we have, what's important is that when or if it
happens, customers should be able to get it fixed within a reasonalble period of time.
Spareparts, and if needed, qualified servicepersonell to get things work again hopefully are
to find without have to return the KB to Italy........

Good luck, and hopefully you'll very soon have great times with your Audya again.

Cheers
