Hello Jean,

I suggest two styles for Georgy Girl:-

1) on the Technics KN7000 I use 8Bt Rock

2) on the Tyros 4 the Music Finder uses Euro Pop Organ with 4/4 beat and 145 tempo

Hope this helps.

Audrey

Hi folks. I forgot to mention I have the 6500.
Audrey - I use the Euro Pop on the PSR910, and that is exactly what I am looking for but there is nothing similar on the 6500, and no 8 beat rock either. Seems to be a rythmn that they overlooked. I have not got a floppy disk drive on this new computer, but I can find someone who has. Alternatively,I have got the gadget that has a floppy disk drive on one end and a USB stick on the other -Can I use this to download floppies for the 6500?? -Steep learning curve here. Thank you Bill - If there is some way of getting the Euro pop organ style to work on the 6500 I would be happy as a pig in mud!!!Cheers Jean Olivia.

Try piano rock at 134 tempo on your KN6500 Jean...

Sorry Jean, I didn't realise that your keyboard was a 6500.....
Not much point in me sending you my 'creation' since any style created on my KN7000 will not work on a KN6500 frown
However, I'll continue making the style, since it's a good song to add to my collection. Perhaps I could get it converted to KN6500 format when it's complete........
I've already done the Intro and Ending as per the original Seekers' recording.
Rog, your suggestion of Piano Rock is certainly a good compromise, but sounds better at T=150 which is about the original tempo smile
I note that the original vinyl recording is in the key of B major - (EEEEK!!!) but the video clips I found on 'YouTube' are in C major........

Hello Jean,

I've been playing the KN7 using the KN6500 styles tonight and although you may not agree, I found the following went with Georgy Girl quite well:-

1) 8Bt Folk,
2) Orchestra Swing
3) Slow Foxtrot

Have fun!

Audrey

I'm sorry Bill - I should have mentioned my 6500 at the start.I feel awful now that you have gone to the trouble of creating it for me. It is a great song to play -The music is in F, I will have to try it in the other keys.
Roger. Thanks for the tip about piano rock - I will play around with it and cut it down a bit. Like all styles, if you increase the speed substantially, it all gets a bit busy, but the beat is there.
I would love a 7000- but the weight puts me off. I could never take it out to play. Cheers Jean.

Hello Jean, Please don't feel bad about not mentioning that your keyboard is a 6500 or that I've spent some time making the style! I enjoy the challenge of composing styles, which are specific to particular songs and try to get them as close as possible to the original recording - it keeps the old grey matter exercised smile

Even if I don't pass the styles on to others, I can still use them during my own gigs.........
So, I'm still working on 'Georgy Girl' and when it's finished, I'll see if I can get it converted to KN6500 format.

It surprises me that 'The Dots' are in 'F' since all the recordings I've heard are in either 'B' or 'C' !

Thank you for your ideas Roger and Audrey. They are all good substitutes. I hope I can eventually have your "creation" Bill -I am sure it will be just right. I don't know how popular the SEEKERS were over there and if Georgy Girl was a well known song, but the audience always love it here. Cheers Jean
