Hi folks, Audya!, great drums, bass, live feel the best! expensive? yes! value for money if working ok, you bet. Will Ketron improve the OS and add any more fixes stability issues features and so on. I for one happy to pay for anything that gets the percieved value of the Audya off the ocean floor.

Maybe music Messe? who knows

Sokratis - thanks very much for posting the good news that Ketron will shortly release a new Audya OS - I have news of something else really useful coming out in May for Audya (but SORRY can't say yet, confidential). Both of these releases should make Audya owners very excited and happy!!! Time for all on the forum to cheer up after a long dull period. Won't be long now folks. Carl

Cakemog or sokratis

Can you tell us if you'll buy it?
Is it ajamsonic?

I just hope OS has micro editing

maybe a new Audya? New module?
Or an SSD for Audya?
New sounds and styles ?

Should I sell my Audya 4 now?

No Leezone, the 4 is perfectly ok, and has capabilities to be better, I don't see it as a finished item as yet, and I'm sure that Ketron are thinking the same way. I'm really excited re Sokratis postings and hope that Ketron would put an official stamp of approval on AJ's work, and or offer the upgrades at a lower price and with thier warranty. Not to suggest Aj that you don't do the same thing it's just that in Australia, mine would have to be done at the Ketron repair replacement centre here, instead of being shipped to the USA.

Good news all round glad to see some positives back

Leezone & Robbo - it's NOT hardware that's coming out in May!! It's NOT AJAM!! It's to load straight into your existing Audya!! Should be GREAT with the new upcoming OS for Audya - I will CERTAINLY buy it!! I'm not trying to tease everyone, just trying to keep all this ALIVE!! Carl

Guess we've all seen what happens when Ketron hype start.
Big hype, then years of delay, high price level and followed by users who have long time problems.
I once was a Ketron fan, sadly Ketron scared me away by the well known Audya story.

The higher the hype, the harder the disappointments. cry

DELAY: There was a delay with the Audya release due to the nature of the brand new technology...a technology that none of the larger manufacturers have been able to match.

PRICE: The Audya was £100 LESS than the Tyros Three when released.

PROBLEMS:I can't comment on those as we never experienced any major issues in the UK, they all seemed to be from half a dozen or so international users that posted a HUGE ammount of stuff which fuelled massive response from a number of individuals here on SZ that had not even tried an Audya (the 100% imaginary problem with complex chords and so called hardware changes that Ketron was allegedly keeping a big secret).

Gunnar Jonny - this is not Ketron hype at all and there should not be any delays. TONEWHEELDUDE has already revealed that Ketron UK will be making announcements in April - this is a genuine product that we can all enjoy and afford!! Just you wait and see - it's REALLY exciting news!!! Hang on guys! Carl

I may be wrong but I still have faith in Ketron.

Is their marketing and support good ? No

Have there been bugs in the OS ? Yes

Have they been on time with upgrades ? No

We can go back and forth forever as to why ?

The fact remains that their technology is cutting edge, and the Audya still is the best sounding keyboard IMO.

They are small, with inherent problems, but they have been in the game for awhile and am sure they intend to overcome the negative issues.

cakemog said:...."It's to load straight into your existing Audya!! "

load where? isn't Audya pretty much FULL already?
i assume we'll have to expand our RAM?

and also, is this 1or 2 new things being SHOWN in April, May?
or being RELEASED?

big difference there !!!

Will All this be shown at the Musikmesse next week?
Or just a new OS possibly?

I hope Ketron will attend with more than just the same "old" AUDYA. smile

In this country Audya started twice as high priced as Tyros 3, and still it cost way abowe T4 and PA3X. Why Ketron never did or do anything about it, is to me a mystery. For what to pay for Audya at the start, we could walk out of the shop with one brand new Tyros3 and a PA2X for same amount of money!!

About the other things I did mention, I think it's very much written in more than one post here at SZ.
Years passes by, the question is if "only" a OS upgrade or modfication will do any big magic, how about the hardware? Guess time will tell.

i would NOT trade my 1 AUDYA for BOTH of these, T3 & PA2X
to me they don't equal the sound
more variety? yes,
but still would lack the in-you-face live band sound that i love !!!

Leezone, I don't know for certain - but I see NO reason why this new product should not be for ALL Audyas!! It will be released in stages - as and when available. For that reason it is affordable for all, in any case (as I said before) we'll ALL want it. The Audya will really come into it's own now (in my view) - I have hoped for this for nearly 3 years but didn't dare believe it would happen. IT'S HAPPENING !!!
OS upcoming from www.ketron.it soon
NEW ?????? from www.ketronmusic.co.uk April/May

I think you'll LOVE IT!! Carl

i saw the tutorials of ajamsonic on youtube.
from what I understand, it is at least a 45 second boot time.
it be nice if they used some sort of flash ram (i think that is what its called?)...instant boot wink

As all the registrations are physical files on the hard drive rather than ram you can put them where you want, so just as a suggestion, press DISK and then find the the registrations/singles folder, press "disk menu" and make a new folder called 'ketron-regs' (or anything you like) and place all the new registrations there. If there are some you realy like move them into the main folder registrations/singles.

The Registraion button is set to shortcut to C:/registrations/singles when you press it.

I downloaded the ZIP file and unzipped to a pen drive. I inserted the USB and see the different style reg's.

The problem is that whether I copy to the REG folder on internal drive or select from the pen drive itself, nothing changes on the board.

What am I not understanding ?

I think you must be doing something wrong Bernie. When you select a registration (e.g. [0044]RUMBABEGUINE.SRG ) you should then have 10 sounds on screen to use and the correct style selected.

Hi Bernie,I had a problem with the "pen drive" method also, the steps to go through are kinda confusing to me. What I ended up doing was hooking my laptop to the Audya and transfering the regs. via the drag & drop method. I also had a couple that had gone into the wrong place with the "pen drive" method and they were easily deleted and re-transfered to the correct location. It went very
quickly and easily then.

Thanks

I knew it has always been this way. I will reload.

Gruhs

I might have to do that, although, it has always worked with my pen drive before.

Seems we can't do much off the USB
I edited a style this weekend off USB. Took 1 hr then saved
but it does not save. If it does I have no idea where

seems like you FIRST must copy to HD

Ketron needs to fix this
you should be able to save even if working off USB

You should always work from the hard drive when possible - the USB stick is realy only for storage.

Ketron Italy will reveal their items during the week at Frankfurt and online. Ketron UK's news will be made public on April 2nd at their open day.

BUT think that...

if Audya allows us to EDIT the style from the USB, then
it SHOULD allow us to SAVE to anywhere, USB and HD

if not, please don't allow editing off USB

agree?

Your not editing it from the USB stick or the hard drive guys. Once you select the style it resides in Audya's RAM which is where you are doing the editing.

When saving a style audya will automatically save to the USER STYLES section on the hard drive. So Bernie...thats probably where your edited style is.

I didn't try to edit, just play or load. I saved it to HD under reg's, and tried to load by puching enter. It did nothing at all.

I can almost guarantee that if you load style from USB
then edit
then SAVE
then remove USB
then CHANGE style to any other
your edited style is GONE

If not please tell me where it goes exactly because i can't find it

Try it and you'll see

leezone,
You should actually be EDITING styles once you have copied them from the USB stick into the USER STYLE's appropriate folder in the AUDYA's HD, and not directly from the USB stick. The design allows for one to playback styles found on an external USB device.

Bernie9,
You shouldn't have to EDIT the REGISTRATIONS before you can use/play them. Simply UNZIP the file you downloaded from Ketron with the X Registrations. Now copy these X individual Single Registrations from your computer into the AUDYA'S HD. To load the Registration, simply press the REGISTRATION button and AUDYA will display the Single Registrations that currently reside in your HD. Use F3 (NUMERIC=ON) so that you can instantly recall the REGISTRATIONS by their associated numeric value - OR keep NUMERIC=OFF and manually scroll through and press ENTER to load the selected/highlighted Register.

Hope this helps.

Did someone say SEQUENCER - at last?

AJ

i do realize that we should FIRST copy our styles from USB to HD
i found out the hard way after spending 2 hrs. tweaking perfect, and hit SAVE, and it went nowhere

BUT the minute the AUDYA allows us to EDIT off the USB it SHOULD also allow us to SAVE to USB or HD

AUDYA should say something like "Editing from USB NOT allowed"
Copy style to HD (user folder) to edit.

simple and logical in my opinion.

Where are the video's,live from Frankfurt they say?,come on Ketron,it is not a vacation there in Frankfurt, you must sell your product for new custumers,so let's see some mpegs, new OS for the Audya's,bring your product to the people at home, not everyone lives in Germany and visit the Messe.

ketron AJ:
1. where is your demo of new sounds ?
2. what append if I load single registration end want to edit this style for export and save into user style ? I don't understand.
3. it's possible like old ketron to make a registration that don't save the styles, but only the link of it (then If I edit styles, all the registration that link to it only modify level ecc. because actualy registration store the style too
thanks

I went back to the Ketron website and reread the description of the new registrations.

"--------When loaded properly in "REGISTRATIONS".

I copied my to registrations, but not inside SINGLE REGISTRATIONS.

That made all the difference.
Thanks,
Bernie

load style from USB
choose style edit
message "style editing from USB not allowed"

or
